Tyler Kiddy Awarded Prestigious Francis Scott Key Bridge Trade & Apprenticeship Scholarship

We’re proud to share that Tyler Kiddy, Sales Representative for our Building Services Department based in Cockeysville, MD, has officially been named a recipient of a Central Scholarship award through the Francis Scott Key Trade and Apprenticeship Scholarships program.

This highly competitive scholarship program was created in response to the tragic bridge collapse in Maryland and aims to strengthen the local workforce by supporting residents pursuing careers in the skilled trades. Over $500,000 in funding provided to Central Scholarship through the Baltimore Community Foundation was made available for qualifying MD residents, and we’re thrilled to share that Tyler was chosen as a grant award winner.

“It is official. I won! I am the recipient of the Central Scholarship Award. I could not have done this without the Walton & Company team. Your support and referral letters were essential. I am truly grateful.”

Committed to Growth—For Himself and the Industry

Tyler will be using his scholarship funds to pursue certification through BOMA Baltimore in the Building Energy Certificate (BEC) and Building Systems Maintenance Certification (SMC) programs. These programs cover vital topics in HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, energy management, and controls—areas where Tyler has already built a strong foundation and now seeks professional certification.

“My goal is to be able to better hold conversations with Building Engineers and commercial customers—and relate more closely to our HVAC and Plumbing Teams out on job sites,” Tyler shared. “These certifications will make me a more effective representative and a stronger contributor to Walton & Company.”

Born and Raised in Maryland, Building the Future Here

Tyler’s connection to Maryland runs deep. As a Maryland native now raising his own young family in the state, he is passionate about serving the communities he grew up in—and developing his expertise within the local market. Since joining Walton in October 2024, he has led our business development efforts throughout Greater Baltimore with energy, professionalism, and a deep respect for the trades.

His story is a powerful example of what happens when drive meets opportunity—and why investing in workforce education is so vital to our company’s mission.

Congratulations, Tyler—we’re proud of you and can’t wait to see what you accomplish next.
