John Hettle, P.E.
John is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. He has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Technology (BSCET) and has been very active with the Raffles Insurance Group. John has 32 years worth of experience in the field of mechanical contracting. He has held a variety of positions during his career; project manager, field engineer, project superintendent, and currently president of Walton and Company. He brings with him a diversity of experience from job perspectives and locations.
CFO | Treasurer
Andy graduated from Penn State University in 1981 with a BA in Accounting and Computer Application. He is the Chief Financial Officer and Secretary/Treasurer for Walton & Company. He has been with the company for 15 years and has worked in the field for over 35 years. His specialties include Finance, Job Cost, Banking, Bonding, and Insurance. He is also the Treasurer of the Construction Financial Management Association.
Andy’s impressive career experience includes Former CFO for a $70 million Mechanical Contractor, a Former Director and Finance Chairman for Raffles Insurance Limited, he was on the Audit committee and the Accounting Manual Revision Committee Member at Mechanical Contractors Association of America. He was also a Former Chairman for Local 520 Plumbers and Pipefitters Joint Labor-Management Pension, H&W, and Annuity Committee and a former President and Head of Negotiating Committee at Mechanical Contractors Association of Central Pennsylvania. WHEW...No wonder he is Walton’s Chief Financial Officer.
James Norton, P.E.
Vice President | Engineering
Jim graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1981 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He's a registered Professional Engineer in Pa, MD, WV, & DE. His professional memberships include the American Society of Heating Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineers, the Engineering Society of York, PA Society of Professional Engineers, & the United States Green Building Council. Jim is on the Board of Directors of the Engineering Society of York, Vice Chairman for the York Twp. Planning Commission, Steering Committee for both Penn State York’s Engineering Technology Program, Thaddeus Stevens Architectural Technology program, & is a member of the East York Rotary Club. Jim has worked as a plumbing & HVAC Engineer for both consulting firms & mechanical contractors since 1983, including his last 23 years with Walton. His resume includes numerous LEED projects including registered LEED Platinum projects in both Maryland and Pennsylvania.
Senior Project Manager | Sheet Metal Manager
Joe is a graduate of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology where he studied Sheet Metal Fabrication & Welding. Joe has Twenty-Four years worth of experience in Sheet Metal Fabrication, Installation, HVAC hydraulic piping, systems, and refrigeration. Joe has worked for Walton & Company a total of 20 years. He started out at Walton & Company working in our Fabrication Shop; he then entered the field as a Forman on Commercial projects for a total of 2 years then obtained a Project Managers position. Joe has since been promoted to Senior Project Manager a position he has held for 5 years and also was recognized the title of Sheet Metal Fabrication Manager which he has held for 4 plus years respectively. Joe is recognized by the ABC Keystone Chapter as an NCCER Certified Mentor for the states certified Apprenticeship Program. Joe is also a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society.
Deb Olphin, SHRM-CP, PHR
Human Resources Manager
Deb Olphin, began her career with Walton & Company in 2008 as a Human Resources Administrator. This career move was a natural fit for Deb after working for years in positions that involved Human Resources responsibilities for numerous local companies and non-profit organizations. Deb was promoted in 2015 as the Human Resources Manager. Deb is passionate about leading the way and providing excellent support to Walton’s employees. Recruiting, onboarding, benefits, wellness, worker’s compensation, unemployment, employee relations, and the apprenticeship program, all represent her daily challenges and rewarding work day.

Building Services Manager
Bill Vervaeke is the Building Services Manager at Walton and Company. He has worked in the HVAC field since a teenager and now brings over 50 years’ experience to the service group. He has been the service manager for over 15 years. Bill takes great pride in his work, family, and community. He is a member of the York Technical Institute HVAC advisory board, The York County School of Technology, and as well the RSES and the ACCA Service Managers group. He continues to work with the Habitat for Humanity, United Way of Central PA, Dorcas Leaman Breast Cancer Group and as well supports the ABC HVAC apprenticeship program.
His professional training includes Copeland Compressor School, Trane Tracer and Compressor School, Carrier Factory Training, York International Chiller Training, Cambridge Heating School, and many other forms of training on all forms of HVAC equipment. He has two years of Education at UMBC in Maryland and Dale Carnegie. Also, Bill works with and supports the ACCA Service Managers group which provides additional training for all HVAC Service Managers in the USA. Also, maintains a Maryland HVAC license.
Terry graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1988. From there he went to work for his Grandpa’s and Uncle’s business Charles H. Miller Jr., and son which did Well Pumps, Water Conditioning and Plumbing Repairs. In March 1993, we merged with Walton & Company focusing on Well Pumps, Water Conditioning, and Service Work. Terry is versatile when it comes to pitching in and helping where needed, he was in the commercial field, sheet metal department and on 2nd shift in the sheet metal shop. In 1995, he went into the warehouse department as truck driver and counter parts sales. In 1998, he was overseeing the warehouse. In April 2005, he moved from the warehouse department to the Purchasing Manager, overseeing the warehouse and fleet mechanic till current. Walton & Company is very proud of Terry for earning a Citation from The House of Representatives for saving a Lady from a burning building on April 25, 2001.
Sheet Metal Fabrication Supervisor
Perry attended Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology where he studied Welding and Metals Fabrication. He has 12 years’ worth of experience in sheet metal fabrication and installation. Perry has worked for Walton & Company a total of 8 years. He started out at Walton & Company working in the fabrication shop; he then took a data entry position entering and downloading parts for the shop. He also served as the light gauge foreman from 2011 to 2013. Perry has since been promoted to the title of Sheetmetal Fabrication Supervisor which he has held for 4 plus years. Prior to working for Walton & Company Perry worked in the field as an installer.
Todd Gingrich began his career with Walton & Company in May of 2000, in the Industrial Plumbing Dept. Promoted In 2002, as the Safety Director role. Previously, he served 20 years with Koch Industries as Plant Operator & Safety Specialist. Todd attended trade school where he completed various welding courses including his structural steel welding certification. He holds various trade-specific safety certifications, including 10 and 30-hour OSHA Outreach training, 40-hour Hazwoper certification, Lead Certification, OSHA’s Excavation & Trenching Competent Person training, Supervisory Permitting for Confined Space, Mine Safety and Health-Part 46 certification, as well as Accident Investigation. He serves on various community safety committees, including Associated Builders and Contractors [ABC], in addition to holding the Safety Chairperson role with Habitat for Humanity. He also writes and publishes safety articles for both company newsletters, and ABC publications. Todd is an avid bowhunter and enjoys fly fishing. With his wife Deborah, they enjoy family, golfing, walks, & being involved with their church.
Plumbing & Pipefitting Superintendent
Rodger has worked in the plumbing trade for 44 years. He started as an apprentice with UA Local 520 Plumbers & Pipefitters Union and worked for two other major Mechanical Contractors for 19 years before joining Walton & Company. He was hired as a Plumber by Walton & Company in February 1998 and was promoted to Superintendent in January 2000.
Currently, Rodger oversees 50 plus Plumbing Laborers, Apprentices, Pipefitters, Mechanics, Welders, and Foremen. He holds a Master Plumbing/Gas Fitting Licenses in Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Delaware, and holds a Medical Gas Certification.
Installation Field Superintendent
After graduating from Northern High School, Brian Wentz followed in his Dad’s footsteps as a Tradesman and started his career working in the Sheet Metal Trade. He began his career working for a local mechanical contractor who provided him the opportunity to attend and graduate from a Pennsylvania registered Sheet Metal Apprenticeship program. During this time, he gained valuable experience working in a fabrication sheet metal shop and on installation projects in the field.
In 1989, Brian was offered the opportunity to help open and establish Walton & Company. After working as a Sheet Metal Mechanic for a few years, Brian moved into the role of a Sheet Metal Field Superintendent and has been managing the work of Walton’s sheet metal field Laborers, Apprentices, Mechanics, and Foremen since 1983. As the trades have evolved over the years, Brian is Walton’s vital link that provides 37 years of knowledge and understanding about the important elements of precise sheet metal field measurement and installation skills that are so important to quality workmanship.
