Supporting Beth Tfiloh’s Mission with Advanced HVAC Solutions
Over a decade ago, Walton & Company began working with Beth Tfiloh Congregation & Schools through a professional relationship built on trust and experience, originally initiated by Steve Hurwitz with Bill Vervaeke, Service Manager at Walton. Beth Tfiloh, a prominent K-12 school with 1,400 students and a large synagogue serving an active congregation, has since relied on our expertise for various mechanical and HVAC needs.
To date, we’ve replaced over 20 rooftop units, upgraded 15 classrooms by installing new split systems equipped with ultraviolet UVC lighting systems and outdoor air handlers, and removed outdated wall-mounted units. Additionally, we’ve modernized two large boilers and an air-cooled chiller. Our team continues to provide a comprehensive preventative maintenance (PM) agreement for all mechanical equipment on-site, along with refrigeration services.
The main school chiller, originally installed during a retrofit in 2001 by another company, began developing significant leaks in 2022, leading to operational challenges during critical times. While temporary repairs provided short-term relief, they could not prevent recurring failures. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, we worked closely with Beth Tfiloh’s leadership in 2023 to develop a replacement plan that incorporated the transition to the environmentally friendly R454B refrigerant.
A York 235-ton chiller was ordered in April 2024 and delivered near Labor Day. Due to scheduling around the school calendar and Jewish holidays, the installation was set for the third Sunday of November. With precise coordination and the support of our Construction Welding team, the chiller was seamlessly installed and fully operational within five days.
Walton & Company is proud to support Beth Tfiloh in fostering a safe and thriving environment for education and worship.
