CAD Intern Tylor Kegresse Finishes 2nd with a Group Effort

CAD Intern Tylor Kegresse Finishes 2nd at the Las Vegas National NAHB Drafting Competition

The National Association of Home Builders, Student Chapter competition was held during the International Builders Show in Las Vegas, in late February. Tylor was on a team of five from York County School of Technology; two worked on the drawings, two on estimates, and one on schedules. Our CAD Intern Tylor worked on drawings and helped with estimates.

The challenge they were given was to design a home located in Summerville, SC. They had to make working plans, an accurate cost of the house, and an accurate schedule of when the job will be completed. They had from October to December to work on it. The team was made up of two seniors, one junior, and two sophomores. Tylor worked with the other senior on drawings and also helped the two sophomores with estimating since it was their first year. Tylor has experience in estimating. The day after they flew into Las Vegas, they did a ten-minute presentation about what they did to complete the project. Tylor competed last year at the NAHB with two other students and placed 4th.

Tylor is a senior studying Architecture and Construction Management at the York County School of Technology. He currently has no plans after school, but he would like to become an architect in the future. Tylor has been interning with Walton since Jan. 30, 2019 and is also involved with Habitat for Humanity within his school.

Great job Tylor and Team!
